The Sea Dogs were down a man early, and Halifax capitalized. Ciampini tallied with the man-advantage at 2:14.

MacKinnon extended the Moosehead’s lead at 3:23 of the first. The Cole Harbour phenom scored again to make it 3-0 Halifax at 6:02 on a partial breakaway.

Auger was fooled by a low shot from Gazzola at 16:43, again on the power play to round out the scoring in the first.

Fournier came into the game to start the second period between the pipes for the Sea Dogs.

Stefan Fournier scored at 4:24, beating Alex Fournier for a 5-0 lead.

The Sea Dogs checking line gave the Sea Dogs a flurry of chances just before the mid-way point of the second period, but at 12:17, it was the Mooseheads who capitalized. Drouin snapped a shot past Fournier on a breakaway to extend the lead.

Ryan scored at 13:52 in the second to make it 7-0 Mooseheads and rounding out the second period scoring.

Huberdeau broke the shutout attempt just 20 seconds into the third period. Duda sent the pass out to Tesink for his first QMJHL point. Tesink fed Huberdeau cross-ice and the Florida Panthers prospect made no mistake, beating Fucale low and to the right.

The Sea Dogs celebrations didn’t last long as MacKinnon completed the hat-trick at 3:13. Ciampini scored his second of the night at 4:06 and Boudreau netted his second of the year for the Mooseheads at 6:45 of the final frame to make it 10-1.

Huberdeau scored his second of the game and eighth of the year at the exact midway point of the final frame. Tesink’s shot was deflected by Huberdeau just in front of Fucale, who couldn’t stop the redirect, making it 10-2.

Fournier had no chance on a deflection directly in front of his crease, where Gazzola’s shot hit something in front and tipped past Fournier at 16:05 to make the final 11-2.
