Q1: Tell us about your Minor Hockey career.
A1: I started playing Minor Hockey at the age of four in Trois-Rivières. I have been a goaltender since I was five-years-old.
Q2: Where did you play your Midget hockey?
A2: I played my Midget hockey with the Trois-Rivières Estacades of the Quebec Midget ‘AAA’ Hockey League. Our team was able to make it to the league’s semi-finals.
Q3: You were drafted by the Screaming Eagles at the 2012 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round two, 21st overall. Tell us your thoughts on being drafted by Cape Breton and what was going through your mind when Cape Breton made their selection.
A3: I was very happy to come to Cape Breton. With the teams goaltending history with Marc-Andre Fleury, Ondrej Pavelec and Olivier Roy, I knew I was going in a good goaltending organization. With the goaltender scout Mario Baril and Scott Gouthro, I knew I could develop very well.
Q4: This season thus far you have a record of 2-3-1-0. What are your thoughts on the season to this point and what have you learned during your time in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League?
A4: The game is very fast and you have to make good decisions in a short time.
Q5: Over the summer, how did you prepare for your first Quebec Major Junior Hockey League training camp?
A5: I did a lot of off-ice training to gain some strength and speed. I was on the ice in my hometown twice a week and was in the gym for 6 days a week.
Q6: Were you always a goaltender? Did you ever think about playing another position?
A6: I have always been a goaltender. I never wanted to play as a forward or a defencman.
Q7: Tell us some interesting facts about your family.
A7: My father (Marc Bureau) played in the National Hockey League for 12 years with 5 different teams including the Calgary Flames, Minnesota North Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers.
Q8: You were born in Trois-Rivières, Que. Tell us about your hometown.
A8: It is a nice city. There are 175,000 people living there and we are an hour away from both Montreal and Quebec City. It is well placed and there is a lot to do. The closest Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team is the Shawinigan Cataractes.
Q9: Who is the one person you would like to thank for getting you where you are today with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles? Why?
A9: My father. He was always there for me and helped me get where I am today with the Screaming Eagles, from goaltending skills to life lessons, he taught a lot to me and that’s why I want to thank him.
Q10: What is one thing you like about Cape Breton?
A10: The rink. Centre 200 is awesome. I think it is one of the best rinks in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
