Boucherville, Que. – The Ultramar Player of the Week is Jeffrey Truchon-Viel (Titan | Acadie-Bathurst). In just two games he was able to rack up four goals and three assists, helping his team to two wins.

Truchon-Viel demonstrated great scoring abilities all while assisting his fellow teammates, which ultimately contributed to the Titan winning both their games and obtaining four points in the standings.

The Titan captain started off strong on Friday, posting two goals and two assists in a 7-3 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs. He managed to tie his personal best for points in a game with four, a mark he set for himself back in January of 2017. He also hit the 20-goal plateau for the 2017-2018 season, all while earning the first star of the game.

The next day, the Titan took on their rivals from the Maritime Division, the Halifax Mooseheads. In a decisive 11-1 victory, the 20-year-old Truchon-Viel picked up three points, including two goals. The team started off strong by scoring seven unanswered goals in the first period. Truchon-Viel kept the momentum going and opened up the second period scoring with a shorthanded goal just six seconds in. The goal set a new team record as the fastest goal scored to open a period.

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan has won its last three games and currently sits in sixth position of the overall standings, as well as being second in the Maritime Division, with 58 points so far this season. For Truchon-Viel, he currently has 40 points with his 22 goals and 18 assists.

Other players considered for the Ultramar Player of the Week are forward Ivan Kosorenkov (Tigres | Victoriaville) and defenseman William Cyr (Huskies | Rouyn-Noranda).

Kosorenkov had eight points throughout the week, netting three goals and five assists in three games. He started off the week by obtaining a goal and an assist in a 7-4 win over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. He then proceeded to score two goals in a 4-3 shootout win over the Rimouski Océanic, one of them being the tying goal, keeping his team alive and helping it obtain two points on the night. He also added an assist in that game. He finished his work week by collecting three helpers versus the Drummondville Voltigeurs in a 3-2 win.

William Cyr also had a productive week, obtaining three goals and four assists, good for seven points. He was strong out of the gate on Thursday by scoring three goals, the first hat trick of his QMJHL career, and the first one by a defenseman this season. He continued his week by obtaining four assists in the two remaining games. With five of his seven points obtained on the power play, he demonstrated that he is an asset with an extra skater on the ice.
