Sebastien Bordeleau named senior advisor

The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, today announced the hiring of Sebastien Bordeleau as senior consultant to Raymond Bolduc. “We drew inspiration from the National Hockey League’s model by utilizing the vast experience and expertise of a former player who will help us in the disciplinary process,” said the League’s commissioner.

Sebastien Bordeleau’s career began in 1991 with the Hull Olympiques. He tallied 321 points during his four-year junior career. Bordeleau’s performance helped him get drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1993. After three seasons with the Fredericton Canadiens of the American Hockey League he made the jump to the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens.

“I think that Sebastien Bordeleau is an excellent addition,” declared Raymond Bolduc, Director of Player Safety. “He will be essential during our decision making.”
 “I am happy to be, once again, part of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League,” said Sebastien Bordeleau. “I think I can contribute to the decision-making process thanks to myvast experience in hockey.”

From 1996 to 2002, Bordeleau played 251 games in the National Hockey League (NHL). He proudly wore the uniforms of the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predateurs, Minnesota Wild and Coyotes Phoenix. During his NHL career, Bordeleau tallied 98 points, including 37 goals.
His professional career continued in Europe where he played for 10 years where he played for Berne and finished his career with Biel.
