The opening frame was back and forth for the first eight minutes, until the Sea Dogs took their first power play, which quickly turned into a 5-on-3 for Saint John. The Drummondville goaltender Graham got away with robbery on Oliver Cooper and Andreas Tsogkas on two rebound chances on a point shot from Kevin Gagne around the nine-minute mark.

The shots were 17-8 in favour of the Voltigueurs, but the first period ended with the game scoreless, thanks to a number excellent saves from Fournier. His best of the period may have been the last, saving a goal with a great pad stop just as time expired in the frame.

The Voltigeurs used the man-advantage early in the second to break the deadlock, with Archambault beating Fournier at 1:10.

The Sea Dogs captain Huberdeau pulled Saint John even with his 100th career goal and 12th of the season. His slap shot snuck just inside the left post, beating Graham at 3:01 of the second frame. Gagne assisted on the milestone goal.

Tesink gave the Dogs the 2-1 lead at 4:39 while on the powerplay. Olivier LeBlanc and Stephen MacAulay set up the goal to grab the helpers.

The Volts tied things back while shorthanded with Caouette beating Fournier at 13:51.

Fournier made a terrific save to keep the game tied with a pad save less than a minute into the final period.

Gauthier gave the Voltigeurs the lead back at 4:52 of the third with his third of the year.

Fournier continued making some great saves through the third, but the onslaught from Drummondville continued. They pulled away with two back-to-back goals 15 seconds apart, one from Gauthier at 13:29 and the other coming off the stick of Marc-Olivier Broulliard at 13:44 on the power play. The goals made it 5-2 Voltigeurs.

Broulliard notched his second of the game at 17:17 to make it 6-2, which would be the final score of the game.

Michael Mastrangelo tried to inject some energy into the Dogs in the late stages of the third, dropping the gloves with Matthew Boudens at 17:32.

The Sea Dogs finish up their road trip in Blainville-Boisbriand, taking on the Armada at 5 PM. Both games are available on News 88.9 FM with Tim Roszell and the TELUS QMJHL Webcast
