Potvin, Neill and Chlapik named the three stars of the week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, October 17th, 2016 – Xavier Potvin, Carl Neill and Filip Chlapik were named today the three stars of the week for October 10 to 16, 2016.

Chicoutimi Saguenéens’ Goaltender, Xavier Potvin, is the first star of the week. He won both games by a score of 2-1, one in overtime and the other in a shootout. He maintained a goals against average of 0.95 and a save percentage of 0.968. He made 37 saves and stopped all 5 shooters in the shootout yesterday to give his team the victory over the Québec Remparts. He was named the first star of the game. His 2.39 goals against average is currently the fifth best in the League this season.

Sherbrooke Phoenix defenceman, Carl Neill is the second star. He collected 8 assists and maintained a +3 rating the 3 games. He was named the first star in an 8-4 win over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar yesterday by participating in 5 of his team’s goals. With those 5 assists, he established a team record and at the same time did something no other defenseman did since 2011-12. The Phoenix captain is 7 points away from the 150-point plateau in the Q.

Filip Chlapik of the Charlottetown Islanders is the third star of the week. He scored 4 goals, added 3 assists and maintained a +8 rating in 3 home games this week. He won 70% of his face-offs this week and is the first player to reach 10 goals this season. He has a least one point in every game he played so far this season and is currently tied for second in points with 17, one behind the League leader.
