#Our18 : Three questions facing Sherbrooke Phoenix

Will Poulin fulfill his potential?

Samuel Poulin was the second overall selection in the last QMJHL Entry Draft. At 6’01” and 201 pounds, the Phoenix’ first round pick already has all the physical tools as a 16-year-old to make an immediate impact and his ceiling is high.

He registered five points in his first four pre-season games. You can bet that the son of former Montreal Canadien Patrick Poulin will quickly become a fan-favorite at the Palais des Sports.

Can Grégoire do it again?

It doesn’t happen often, but the defenseman led all skaters in scoring for the Phoenix last season after registering 10 goals and 54 assists. In the playoffs, he contributed three goals in five games.

Will the Phoenix defensive core step up?

“We’re not worried at all. Luke Green and Thomas Grégoire will play heavy minutes. With Jean-Mathieu Lavoie and Vincent Lampron, we have four solid 19-year-old defensemen. Olivier Crête-Belzile is a rookie, but he has impressed since the start of training camp.  Yann-Félix Lapointe has really matured and Alexandre Joncas has been surprising,” shared Sherbrooke Phoenix General Manager Jocelyn Thibault to the local newspaper, La Tribune.
