Four goals in third period lifts Islanders over Titan
The Charlottetown Islanders were down 3-2 to start the third period against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Saturday night.
However, Guillaume Brisebois scored two in the final frame and the Islanders scored three power play goals on their way to a 6-3 win.
Daniel Sprong, Keith Getson, Adam Marsh and Nicolas Meloche also scored for the Islanders in the win. Kameron Kielly and Filip Chlapik each had two assists.
Luc Deschenes, Jeffrey Truchon-Viel and Antoine Morand scored for the Titan.
Mark Grametbauer was in goal for Charlottetown and picked up the win.
The Islanders had to fight back after being down 1-0 in the first period, 2-1 in the second and 3-2 at the start of the third period.
The Islanders went 3-for-8 on the power play, while the Titan went 1-for-6.
Sprong’s first period goal was his 31st of the season and was assisted by Francois Beauchemin and Saku Vesterinen.
Getson scored shorthanded in the second period on a breakaway.
Marsh scored at 5:50 of the third on the PP. Kielly and Chlapik had the assists.
Meloche gave the Islanders their first lead of the game on the PP at 10:05 when he went top shelf on Titan goalie Anthony Dumont-Bouchard. Sprong and Brisebois had the assists.
Captain Brisebois then scored two against his former team to finish it.
His first came at 12:51 on the PP, with Meloche and Alex Dostie assisting.
At 16:27, he scored his second to make it 6-3 Islanders. Chlapik and Kielly both picked up their second assists on this goal.
