The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Shawinigan Cataractes today announced the Cataractes will be hosting two outdoor games, one against the Rimouski Oceanic and one against the Quebec Remparts, at Grandes Estrades du Festival Western de Saint-Tite on February 8–9, 2019.

QMJHL Commissioner Gilles Courteau made the announcement this morning in Saint-Tite, accompanied by representatives from the Shawinigan Cataractes, the Quebec Remparts, the Rimouski Oceanic and the City of Saint-Tite.

« It’s the 50th anniversary of the QMJHL combined with the 50-year history of our oldest and only original franchise, the Shawinigan Cataractes. It’s also the perfect opportunity to come back here, on this fabulous site, to relive together the magic moments of the 2015 Winter Classic! », said Commissioner Courteau.

The QMJHL Winter Classic will be returning to Saint-Tite four years after the city hosted the very first QMJHL outdoor game. Last season, it was the Drummondville Voltigeurs who played host to Victoriaville and Sherbrooke in the second tenure of the event.

Tickets for individual games will be made available to the general public beginning on November 15, 2018 through the Cataractes’ ticketing services, online or at the Centre Gervais Auto.
