The QMJHL proud to launch its Foundation

DRUMMONDVILLE, QC – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Commissioner Gilles Courteau is proud to announce the creation of the QMJHL Foundation. The objective of the Foundation is to create a pool of funds which will help the League award study grants to its players to help them pursue their education.

The Commissioner’s office took the first steps with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) by sending an official application in September of 2016.

“We are very proud to launch the QMJHL Foundation to the benefit of our student-athletes. It’s a great moment for the League and its Education Program. We work hard to give our players the best possible education package and the recognition of this Foundation by the Canada Revenue Agency will help us to continually improve an already very solid program,” said Commissioner Courteau.

Every dollar donated to the QMJHL Foundation will be awarded to its players through study grants.  The QMJHL Foundation will now forward official receipts to its growing base of donors so that they might benefit from a tax credit.
