QMJHL Player of the Week | Zachary Bolduc (January 9, 2023)

The latest QMJHL Player of the Week is Quebec Remparts winger Zachary Bolduc. In three games, the 19-year-old from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec scored six times and added an assist as the league-leading Remparts earned five of a possible six points.

On Wednesday night in Drummondville, Bolduc posted a hat trick before the end of the first period, the ninth three-goal effort of his QMJHL career. It would prove crucial as the Remparts won the back-and-forth encounter against the Voltigeurs by a score of 5-4. For his efforts, the fourth-year veteran was named the game’s first star.

Bolduc would again be named first star on Friday night at home. In the first of back-to-back encounters with Gatineau, he would get things started with a first period tally before tying the game up late in the second. Eventually, the Remparts would defeat the Olympiques 4-2 in a battle between two of the league’s top clubs.

On Saturday afternoon in Quebec, the two teams locked horns once more. After assisting on a second period tally, Bolduc recorded the game-tying goal with forty second remaining in regulation time. Though the Remparts would fall 4-3 in overtime to the Olympiques, Bolduc successfully extended his current point streak to 14 games.

Following up on a 55-goal campaign in 2021-22, Bolduc, who was selected by the St. Louis Blues 17th overall at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, currently sits tied for third in the league with 62 points and in a tie for fourth with 28 goals.
