QMJHL hosting its first ever open house weekend for Midget Prospects

Shawinigan, QC – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is hosting a 2-day open house weekend on October 12 & 13 in Shawinigan, QC.  No less than 66 of the 2020 QMJHL Draft-eligible prospects will be in attendance.

During the weekend, the players will participate in seminars, Q&A sessions with alumni and get an opportunity to jump on the ice for a practice with QMJHL coaches. They will also tour the Gervais-Auto Centre, home of the Shawinigan Cataractes, getting an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at a major junior hockey team facility and environment.

“This event is a wonderful showcase for the league to demonstrate what we have to offer,” said Martin Lavallée, Assistant to the Commissioner. “The players and their parents will learn more about our different programs, hear about experiences from our alumni and have the opportunity to ask questions and raise their concerns.”

A keynote address and an information session for parents was held this morning. Finally, the players and their parents will attend the game between the Shawinigan Cataractes and the Gatineau Olympiques this afternoon.
