Pink in the Rink, back for an eighth year

BOUCHERVILLE, QC – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and its 18 clubs, in association with the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, is proud to announce its renewed commitment to the fight against breast cancer for an eighth consecutive year. Several « Pink in the Rink » initiatives have been created by our teams to generate funds, which will be distributed within the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, a Maritimes-based association, or local organisms dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
Our 18 teams will wear a pink jersey for one designated home game in October. The jerseys will then be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to foundations that support the fight against breast cancer. Our clubs have been able to raise more than 110 000$ on average over the years, and we hope to surpass that amount again this season.
This event is a crucial part of the QMJHL’s social mission and corporate citizenship. We are proud to play our role in the fight against breast cancer because it is essential for the League to support the women afflicted by this terrible disease.
Our referees will once again support the cause by wearing pink stickers on their helmets during the entire month of October.
