Moncton comes away with three road wins, despite loss to Drummondville tonight

Moncton, Wildcats

MONCTON N.B. – The Wildcats wrapped up their Quebec road trip tonight in Drummondville, looking to make it four in a row on the road after some impressive wins in the past few games. However, it was not in the cards tonight for Moncton, although not for a lack of effort, the Cats lost this one 5-1 to Drummondville.

The first half of the game saw only Drummondville on the board, recording four goals. It was not until the midway point of the second before Moncton would register their first of the game. Drummondville goals went to Nathan Hudgin, Joey Ratelle, Pavel Koltygin and Ryan DaSilva.
It was at 14:57 of the second that Moncton would get their first of the night, courtesy of Sam Meisenheimer. Tonight was Sam’s first goal of the season, and first goal in the QMJHL!

It was a strong third for the Wildcats, and it was not for lack of chances or effort tonight. Drummondville’s netminder Antony Dumont-Bouchard made some amazing saves to hold his teams lead throughout the game. In the dying minutes of the final frame the home team added one more on the power play, from Charley Graaskamp to make the final 5-1.

Moncton outshot Drummondville tonight 33-31. Julian Galloway got the start in nets tonight for Moncton but was replaced by Matt Waite midway through the second period.

Although a tough loss tonight, the Cats come away from this road trip with three big wins over Bathurst, Rouyn and Val-d’Or!
