Fan of the Week | Tina Broderick (Halifax)

Tina Broderick is a long-time fan of the Halifax Mooseheads who became a Season Ticket Member in 2014 after many years of attending games. A teacher by trade, she shares her love of the game with her students and has become one of the most passionate Mooseheads fans in the rink.

Here is a little Q&A session that was done with Tina earlier this season:

1) What made you become interested in the Mooseheads?

I love hockey and The Mooseheads play good competitive hockey, great value for the cost.

2) What is special about being a part of the Mooseheads fan base?

The Mooseheads players are the role models for every kid in minor hockey. Every kid who plays minor hockey wants to be a Moosehead one day. As a teacher it is a great way to be able to connect with my students on this level. Being a Moosehead fan means being part of a family.

3) Have you developed friendships with fellow season ticket members that you’ve met at the rink?

I have developed amazing friendships with other season ticket holders who have sat with us or currently sit with us (around our seats). We are now Facebook friends and I know all about them and their families and vice versa. We now connect through hockey and other interests. We plan outfits for special games and work together on a variety of signs, always making sure no one gets upset. Sometimes we exchange gifts for special occasions. Sometimes people have recognized me at the games and start conversations and from there we have become friends!

4) What is the best part about being at the rink on a regular basis?

I go to all the games with my sister, it is a special connection that she and I have. We have so much fun and it is a special bond that we share. Besides that, it is the energy. As soon as you enter the Scotiabank Centre it is like seeing a bunch of old friends… right from the gentleman who scans our tickets, the young lady who takes our poutine order, the ushers in our section, and all the other season ticket holders in our section and around us. We greet each other with waves, hugs, and general conversations. We are all Moose family.
