A long-time and avid fan of the Val-d’Or Foreurs, Carmen Gignac hardly missed a game played on the Air Creebec Center’s ice. Unfortunately, due to the current global pandemic, she has not been able to reconnect with her favorite club for almost a year now.
We were still able to get a testimony from Mrs. Gignac, and you can immediately tell just how much love she has for her favorite team! Without further ado, here’s what she had to say about her passion for the green and gold squad:
“As my son Dany, who often came to games with me, would say: There goes mom, who always needs to arrive an hour and a half before the game!
Yes, indeed, I loved to show up early. I would go get my famous chicken burger and beer, sit down, and watch the guys do their off-ice warm-up. That being said, my son even posted a picture of me online once, one in which I was pretty much the only one sitting in the stands!
I love my Foreurs. They are young men full of talent, whom we must encourage. One of my favorite memories is without a doubt when my children bought me a Foreurs jersey… and my favorite player, Nicolas Ouellet, then came over to sign it at my seat! I will never forget that moment.
And what about the teddy bear toss games?! Ah, the beautiful memories! I can’t wait for this darn virus to go away so we can go back and cheer on our beloved Foreurs!”
