2023 Final Series attracts large TV audience

 

The numbers are in. And the results are amazing!

A grand total of 927,700 fans of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League tuned in to either RDS or TSN to watch along as the Quebec Remparts and Halifax Mooseheads faced off for the 2023 Gilles-Courteau Trophy. The championship series, which only began airing on TSN as of Game 3, attracted an average of 231,925 viewers per game. 

The peak viewership occurred on Friday, May 19, when close to 307,000 people tuned in for Game 5. 

Here are the official audiences for each game that aired on both the RDS and TSN channels:

  • Game 3 –  May 16 | RDS (178K) + TSN (39K) = 217,000
  • Game 4 –  May 17 | RDS (141K) + TSN (37K) = 178,000
  • Game 5 –  May 19 | RDS (254.9K) + TSN (52K) = 306,900
  • Game 6 –  May 21 | RDS (185.8K) + TSN (40K) = 225,800
  • Finals Grand Total | RDS (759.7K) + TSN (168K) = 927,700
