Moose win 6th in a row in Drummondville

It wasn’t pretty, but the Mooseheads have won their 6th in a row.

The Herd were outworked by a pesky Drummondville Voltigeurs team but still managed to capitalize on their chances to escape with a 5-2 win.  The Volts outshot the Herd 28-18, including 17-7 over the final 2 periods.  Scoring for the Moose were Stefan Fournier, Marty Frk, Mac Weegar, Luca Ciampini and Nathan Mackinnon into the empty net.  Fournier also added 2 assists.  Zach Fucale was very solid in goal making 26 saves, including several highlight reel saves during a 5-3 disadvantage for the Moose.  The win improves the Mooseheads record to 8-1 on the season.

Next up for the Herd is the Memorial Cup Champions, the Shawinigan Cataractes tomorrow in Shawinigan.  The Herd are back on home ice a week from today on Friday, October 19th when they host the Sherbrooke Phoenix on Pink in the Rink 5.  For tickets, visit the Ticket Atlantic Box Office, select Superstore Outlets, or by phone 451-1221.
