Saturday, against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, he made 27 saves and blocked 4 additional shots during the shootout to collect his 9th consecutive win. Saturday night, the Cataractes took the overall lead with 68 points, two more than the Sea Dogs. As of last Thursday, Gabriel Girard’s goals-against-average average of 2.40 is the best in the league.
The second star is awarded to Guillaume Asselin, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens right-winger. Wednesday, in a 6-0 win against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, he was named the 1st star of the game after recording 2 goals, the second being his 20th of the season. The next day, he collected 2 assists versus the PEI Rocket. It’s worth noting that he played all of his games on the road.
