PEI Rocket forward Ben Duffy has been selected as the 1st star of the month. In 11 games, he scored 8 goals and added 11 assists for a total of 19 points and a +/- of +7. During the month of December, Duffy posted 6 games with 2 points or more. His best game was on December 14 against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles with a total of 4 points. He is presently tied with teammate Josh Currie atop the League’s scoring standings with 63 points in 37 games.
In 10 games with the Halifax Mooseheads, Matthew Boudreau scored 11 goals and tallied 14 points securing the 2nd star for this month. His best outing was a hat trick on December 15 against the Moncton Wildcats. In total, Boudreau scored 4 game winners and currently has 27 goals this season, placing him in 5th place among the League’s top scorers.
17-year-old Rimouski Oceanic rookie goaltender Philippe Desrosiers is the 3rd star of the month with 8 wins and only 1 loss in December. He registered a goals-against-average of 2.49 and a save percentage of .914 and ended the month with 7 consecutive wins. Moreover, he played 5 games where he only allowed one goal. The highlight was a 43-save performance against the Quebec Remparts on December 21st. Desrosiers was an important asset for the Oceanic, helping them rise to second place in the overall standings with 54 points.
