Dea, Halley and Auger named the TELUS three stars of the week

Jean-Sébastien Dea, Philippe Halley and Sébastien Auger were named today the TELUS three stars of the week for the period spanning September 24 to September 30 2012.

In three road games this week, Jean-Sébastien Dea of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, scored 6 goals and added 2 assists for a total of 8 points. In a 9-2 win against the Sherbrooke Phoenix on Wednesday, he scored 3 goals for a second time this season, two of which were on the penalty kill. He also added an assist to earn first star honours. On Friday, he tallied 3 points (2+1) and was named the 3rd star of the game in a 4-2 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs. On Saturday, versus the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada during an offensive duel ending in a 5-4 shoutout win for the Huskies, he gave his team a 4-3 lead during 3rd period action by scoring his 9th goal this season.

Vicotriaville Tigres forward Phillipe Halley collected 8 points this week, including 6 assists to earn second star honours. He scored his 1st goal of the season against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens on Wednesday. During the Shawinigan Cataractes home opener, he registered 4 points (1+3) to help the Tigres capture their first win of the season by a 4-0 score. He was named the 1st star of the game. Finally, on Saturday in a 7-3 victory, he was credited with 3 assists against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, for which his teammate, Philip Danault, scored 3 goals.

Sébastien Auger, the Saint John Sea Dogs goaltender, had an exceptional 3 starts this week, yielding only 4 times on 101 shots, enabling him to secure a 1.33 goals-against-average and .960 save percentage. His exceptional play helped Saint John post 3 wins. On Wednesday, September 26, he made 21 saves in a 4-2 victory over the rival Moncton Wildcats. Friday, he was named the 1st star in a 3-1 win over the pesky Gatineau Olympiques, making 34 saves. Finally, on Sunday, in a match where no goals were scored during the first 2 periods of play, Auger blocked 43 shots allowing but one to the Wildcats as the Sea Dogs came away with their fourth win in five games to take over 1st place in the Telus Maritimes division.
