The Moncton Wildcats used a 5 goal 2nd period to power them to a 7-0 shutout of the Saint John Seadogs Sunday at Harbour Station.
The powerplay was a big part of the explosion. Moncton scored 3 goals, with the man advantage, in a span of 1:49 to lead the Cats to their 4th win in a row and second straight vs the Seadogs .
Alex Saulnier and Ross Johnston each netted 2 goals and assisted on another. Chris Lalonde (1g 1a), Ryan Penny and Phillip Danault also scored. Mark Tremaine, Allain Saulnier and Yannick Veilleux each chipped in 2 assists.
Alex Dubeau picks up his 3rd shutout of the season , stopping 23 shots. He was the Cats best player in a scoreless 1st period that saw Saint John outshot Moncton 13-8. Cats had 37 shots on Sebastien Auger.
Wildcats were 4 for 7 on the powerplay, while SJ went 0 for 4.
Moncton returns to action Wednesday when they host the PEI Rocket.
