The Moncton Wildcats hosted the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles last night, putting on a dominant performance and coming out on top with a 4-0 win!
It was a full team effort by the Wildcats, putting up goals in every period, combined with impressive goaltending made for a great combination on the ice.
Captain Lane Cormier kicked things off for the team tonight with a power play goal in the first, marking his third of the season with assists to Cam Askew and Jeremy McKenna.
With the Wildcats looking to build on their lead in the second, they would do just that adding one more for a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes of play. After missing the first three months of the season due to injury Mika Cyr was back in the lineup tonight and made his presence known. He notched his first of the season at 4:19 of the second, putting the Cats up by a pair headed to the final frame.
In the third Kevin Klima found the back of the net for his fourth of the season, and Jeremy McKenna would find the open net to make the final 4-0!
Dom Temj was outstanding in nets tonight for his Wildcats debut with the shutout, turning away all 31 Cape Breton shots!
