Boucherville, Que. – The Ultramar Player of the Week is goaltender Tristan Bérubé (Olympiques | Gatineau) who dominated the crease and led his team to two wins in as many games.

The netminder has been on quite the tear as of late, he has not lost in regulation over his past eight games, helping the Olympiques to a 10-0-1-1 record over their past 12 outings.

Over the past week, Bérubé pushed aside 65 of the 67 shots he faced in both his wins, skating away with an even 1.00 goals against average and a .970% save percentage.

Last Wednesday, the La Pocatière native helped Gatineau to a 4-1 win over Drummondville by making 37 saves and earning first-star honors along the way.

On Sunday, he helped his squad to another 4-1 win, this time against the OHL’s Ottawa 67’s in the long awaited Outdoor Game between the cross-river rivals. Bérubé was sensational right from the initial puck drop, making 20 of his 28 saves in the first two periods alone, while his team was being doubled in shots on goal.

Bérubé’s latest stretch has seen him end the first half of the QMJHL regular season as the league’s top goaltender with both a .928% save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average in the 20 games he’s played.

Other players considered for the Ultramar Player of the Week honors were forwards Rémy Anglehart (Armada | Blainville-Boisbriand) and Cédric Paré (Sea Dogs | Saint John).

Anglehart enjoyed his best week to date in the QMJHL, finishing off his two games by netting a total of five goals. After scoring twice on Friday, including the game-winner, Anglehart topped his performance with his first ever hat trick in a 5-2 win over Sherbrooke on Saturday.

As for Paré, he scored a goal and added four helpers to have his saying in five of the eight goals scored by the Sea Dogs last week. His timing was definitely on point, as he set up both of his team’s overtime game-winning goals in the process.
