Boucherville, Que. – This week, the Ultramar Player of the Week honors go to Julien Tessier (Wildcats | Moncton). The centreman really impressed during the sixth week of action in the QMJHL, one in which he potted two goals and added four helpers over three games.
Tessier has been heating up of late as he’s now put up points in five straight games for the Wildcats. His contributions led Moncton to two wins in three games over the last week.
Tessier put up a goal and an assist in his team’s loss to Cape Breton last Tuesday, and followed up with three assists and a first-star performance in a 5-2 win over the Foreurs just three days later.
He rounded out his week with an insurance marker scored in a 6-3 win over the Tigres on Saturday, a game where he skated away with the second star of the night.
Tessier has been putting together a terrific campaign in 2017-18 thanks to his 5G-14A-19P totals in 16 games played. It is to be noted that the 19-year-old is on pace to break his career-best stat lines of 9G-16A-25P, put up over 38 regular season games last year.
