The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League confirmed today that the Shawinigan Cataractes have traded defenseman Nikita Kolesnikov (92-10-30), goaltender Storm Phaneuf (95-11-10) and a 6th round pick in 2012 to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. In return, the Cataracts acquired forward Kirill Kabanov (92-07-16) and defenseman Alexandre Gauthier (94-06-03).

Kolesnikov played 13 games with the Cataractes this season, collecting 1 goal and 9 assists for a total of 10 points. Kabanov played for the Lewiston MAINEiacs and the Moncton Wildcats during the 2010-2011 season. In 39 games, he recorded 11 goals and 17 assists for a total of 29 points.
