Screaming Eagles New Education Coordinator Ryan MacPherson

The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles are happy to announce that Ryan MacPherson will be the teams new part-time Education Coordinator. He takes over for Gary MacLean, who retired at the end of last season after serving as the teams Education Coordinator for the past eight years.

MacPherson, 33, graduated St. Francis Xavier University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Education (Science/Math). He currently teaches at Sydney Academy High School where he teaches Aboriginal Entrepreneurship 11/12, Math and Multimedia. Besides teaching, Ryan has been extremely active in the community – Served as a Board Member of the Cape Breton Dragon Boat Society, Managed Sydney Academy Hockey Club from 2001 – 2014, a Team Host during the 2003 U-20 World Junior Hockey Championship and 2014 World U17 Hockey Challenge hosted in Sydney, NS. Currently, he is a Board Member/President of the Cape Breton Tradesmen of the Nova Scotia Eastlink Major Midget Hockey League and Member of the Athletic Committee at Sydney Academy.
