REGULAR SEASON SUMMARY
With a 90-point campaign, the Victoriaville Tigres finished just two points behind their archrival Drummondville Voltigeurs. The Tigres are red-hot right now having won 10-straight games to close out the regular season. Their special teams played a big role in their success all year long. Head coach Louis Robitaille’s squad boasted the league’s second-ranked penalty-killing unit (84.8%) and No. 3 power play (23.2%). Acquired from the Gatineau Olympiques in November, sniper Vitalii Abramov quickly adapted to his new home, finishing second in league scoring with 104 points, including 45 goals. His linemate and World Junior gold medal winner with Team Canada, Maxime Comptois, also had a big year with 44 goals and 41 assists. In the blue paint, Étienne Montpetit picked up 13 wins in 17 games for the Tigres after being acquired from the Val-d’Or Foreurs. He also went on to finish in the QMJHL top five for both goals against average (2.57) and save percentage (.925).
