The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will hold the seventh edition of the Gatorade Challenge which kicks off today and runs until April 28th.
120 of the best QMJHL prospects split into six teams will be competing in a round-robin tournament to capture the Gatorade Cup. All Eastern Canadian branches are represented with teams comprised of the best players from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland/Labrador and Quebec (2 teams). Each team will play at least five games.
“It is already the seventh edition of the tournament and I will like to thank Gatorade, our title partner, for their continued support. The event represents a great opportunity for our fans to see the next generation of players while QMJHL and team scouts finalize their lists for the upcoming draft which will be held on Saturday, June 8th at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City,” commented QMJHL Commissioner Gilles Courteau.
