Referee Pierre Lambert makes it to the NHL

BOUCHERVILLE, Friday, July 8, 2016 – Pierre Lambert, who refereed three seasons in the QMJHL, officially signed his first National Hockey League contract.

Lambert, a 28-year-old native of St-Basile-le-Grand, refereed three season in the QMJHL from 2010 to 2013. He took part in 116 regular season games and 18 playoff games. He refereed in the 2013 President Cup Final before moving to the ECHL the next season.

He worked the ECHL’s Kelly Cup Finals three straight years and 68 AHL games last season.

He’s the 13th QMJHL official to make it to the NHL in the past years.

The QMJHL would like to congratulate Pierre Lambert on his new contract and wish him the best of luck.
