#Our18 : 3 questions facing Chicoutimi Saguenéens
How will the goaltender’s workload be split up?
With Zachary Bouthillier and rookie Alexis Schank, head coach Yanick Jean is expecting both netminders to split the workload equally. Bouthillier has 20 games of experience in the QMJHL, while Schank has only played in three.
“They are both youngsters who will split the workload and continue to develop together.” -Yanick Jean
How will Yanick Jean work with his rookies on the blue line?
The Saguenéens have three rookies on defence; Jérémy Diotte, Simon Monette and Joakim Paradis, all of whom have played a total of 48 QMJHL games between themselves. Despite being tagged as rookies, all three are 18 years old, a fact that should help their integration.
“At age 18, it’s different than a for a young defenceman who comes into the league at 16. You have more experience. I don’t think youth will be a factor.” -Yanick Jean
Will German Rubtsov be able to answer the call?
The Saguenéens will welcome German Rubtsov back with open arms this season after he had collected 22 points over 16 games before seeing his season cut short because of an injury last year. Yanick Jean has a lot of faith in number 17. “He will be one of the offensive pillars in this league. He’s a part of the top three forwards in the league”, he said. “I am convinced that he will be able to produce night after night.”
