Inside the Numbers – Week 2

This week we take a look at the average age and size of all QMJHL players from each team.

After analyzing all 428 players and goalkeepers from the 18 QMJHL teams, we came to the conclusion that our average athlete stands 6-foot-tall, weighs 184 pounds and is barely 18 years and a few weeks old.

The Victoriaville Tigres have the oldest group of players in the QMJHL with an average age of 18.5 years old. On the flip side, the Tigres are also the smallest team with an average height of 71.28 inches, the equivalent of 5 feet and 11 ¼ inches.

The defending champions, the Saint John Sea Dogs, show an impressive size average on their roster. The are at the top of the board when it comes to their player’s size and weight (6’¾’’ | 189 pounds | 2.6 RLP). Please note that the RLP index represents a person’s “Pounds per Inches” ratio.
