Girard, Pickard and Montcalm named the three stars of the week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, October 24th, 2016 – Samuel Girard, Reilly Pickard and Dylan Montcalm were named today the three stars of the week for October 17 to 23, 2016.

Shawinigan Cataractes’ defenceman, Samuel Girard is the first star of the week. He scored 1 goal, added 5 assists and maintained a +3 rating in 3 games. He’s part of a defense core that only allowed one goal against this week and blanked the opponent for over 157 consecutive minutes. He now has 17 points in 7 games since coming back from the Nashville Predators’ training camp which gives him the best point per game average of the League at 2.43.

Acadie-Bathurst Titan goaltender, Reilly PIckard, is the second star. He won the three games he started and stopped 88 of 93 shots he faced. He maintained a goals against average of 1.67 and a save percentage of 0.946. Two of his victories came against 2 powerhouses of the League, Saint John and Rouyn-Noranda. He stopped 37 shots and earned the first star on Friday in a 3-1 win over the Sea Dogs and on Sunday, he made 28 saves in a 5-3 victory over the Huskies.

Dylan Montcalm of the Rimouski Océanic is the third star of the week. He recorded 7 points with 3 goals in the 3 games he played this week. He recorded a personal high 4-points in a game Wednesday as the Océanic beat the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5-4. His team was losing 4-2 when Montcalm scored one goal and added 2 assists to lead his team to victory. He is currently tied with a teammate as the League’s points leader with 21.
