Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Cam Russell added some big time offense at the CHL Import Draft on Wednesday by adding exciting forward Filip Zadina from the Czech Republic with the 10th pick in the draft.

Scouts call Zadina a clever and dynamic offensive player. He has a late 1999 birthday meaning he’ll be among the oldest players eligible for the NHL Entry Draft next year and is already considered to be one of the top prospects available. He is a left-handed shooting right winger that projects to bring plenty of punch to the Mooseheads lineup.

Zadina brings with him an excellent shot with a knack for scoring big goals as was evident when he led his country to a gold medal at last year’s Ivan Hlinka Memorial by scoring twice in a 4-3 win over the United States. He tied for the goal scoring lead in that tournament. He has scored 73 points in 65 games in International Junior play.
