Jean-Sébastien Dea, Nathan MacKinnon and Josh Currie were named today, the TELUS three stars for the months of September and October 2012 in the QMJHL.

Jean-Sébastien Dea, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies centre, had a great start this season with an outstanding average of 2 points per game. His 34 points in 17 games made him the leading scorer of the League, just 1 point ahead of his teammate Sven Andrighetto. Dea is the current leader of the QMJHL with 18 goals so far, with his 15 points in power-play and with 3 or more goals per game (3). He played 10 games with 2 points or more in October and his performance was amazing on the road, as he collected 17 points in 7 games (an average of 2.43 points per game). The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies are at the top of the WESTERN TELUS division. They are looking for the top spot in the standings, 3 points behind the Halifax Mooseheads.

The #22 of the Halifax Mooseheads, Nathan MacKinnon stood out in a big way since day one of the regular season calendar. The young player scores an average of 1 goal per game. In fact, he collected 18 goals in 16 games and his outstanding total of 29 points places him in the third rank in the League’s top scorer standing. MacKinnon is leading the QMJHL with 4 winning goals and he also dominated the +/- column with an impressive +18. His amazing performances during October did not stop there. He obtained at least 1 point in his last 12 games and he was running a great sequence of 9 straight games with at least 1 goal which ended in October. He is without a doubt a key player in the Halifax Mooseheads' success which will try to keep alive an impressive active streak of 13 wins in a row.

Josh Currie has had an incredible start this season with the PEI Rocket. His total of 29 points on the 65 goals scored by the Rocket shows that he contributed to 44.6% on the total offensive of his team. The 20-year-old centre collected 17 goals including 3 shorthanded and also netted 3 winning goals. The Rocket captain collected at least 1 point in 12 straight games during this successful month of October. The PEI Rocket is surprising the experts with a record of 10 victories in 16 games this season.
