The Halifax Mooseheads used 3 powerplay goals to win their 5th in a row defeating the Moncton Wildcats 5-1 Wednesday night in Halifax.
The Mooseheads scored twice with the man advantage in the first 4 minutes of the game on a five minute powerplay. Cats Ivan Barbashev was penalized for a hit from behind major , 51 seconds into the game, that also brought with it game misconduct.
Nathan McKinnon and Luca Ciampini each scored twice to lead Halifax. Newly acquired Jonathon Narbonne scored Moncton’s lone goal on the powerplay in the 2nd. The Mooseheads held period leads of 2-0 and 4-1, while being outshot by the Cats 30-23. Zac Fucale gets the win in nets for Halifax. Alex Dubeau suffers the loss in the Cat cage.
The Wildcats begin a 5 game home stand , starting Friday , when the host Val D’or at 7pm
