Boland, MacEwen and Rodrigue named the three stars of the week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, January 16th, 2017 – Tyler Boland, Zack MacEwen and Olivier Rodrigue were named today the three stars of the week for January 9th to 15th, 2017.
Tyler Boland, Rimouski Océanic forward, is the first star of the week. In 4 games, he tallied 9 points with 3 goals finishing with a +5 rating. Tuesday in Baie-Comeau, he scored the game winner on his second goal of the game and was named the first star in a 4-2 win over the Drakkar. In an offensive game Sunday, he scored his 30th goal of the season in a third period comeback but his team fell short 7-6 against the Quebec Remparts. With 65 points, he’s only two behind the League leader, Maxime Fortier of the Halifax Mooseheads who currently has 67 points.
The second star is awarded to the Gatineau Olympiques’ forward, Zack MacEwen. The 20-year-old veteran scored 3 goals, added 4 assists in 2 games this past week. He also had a great week in the faceoff circle, winning 64% of the draws he participated in. With 2 goals and 2 assists on Wednesday night, he was named the first star of the game in a 6-2 win over the Sherbrooke Phoenix. Friday he got 3 more points and was named the second star in a 6-3 victory. He now has 21 goals and 45 points in 41 games this season.
The Drummondville Voltigeurs’ goaltender, Olivier Rodrigue is the third star of the week. The 16 year-old rookie finished the week with a goals against average of 1.40 and stopped 52 of 55 shots for a save percentage of .945. He helped his team get 3 out of a possible 4 points. In a 2-1 shootout loss on Friday, he made 31 saves and was named the second star of the game. He was named the second star again on Saturday, making 21 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Moncton Wildcats. He hasn’t lost in regulation time in his last 5 games (4-0-1) allowing only 7 goals during this streak.
