Abramov, Harvey and Fiore named the three stars of the week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, December 19, 2016 – Vitalii Abramov, Samuel Harvey and Giovanni Fiore were named today the three stars of the week for December 12 to 18, 2016.

The first star of the week is awarded to the Gatineau Olympiques’ forward, Vitalii Abramov. In 3 games, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ prospect scored 5 goals, added 6 assists and finished the week with a +7 rating. He was also named the first star in all 3 games. In an 8 to 1 victory on Monday in Quebec, he finished the game with 6 points (2 goals, 4 assists), one shy of the franchise road record of 7. He added 3 more points on Friday in a 5-3 win against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. His 45 points in 32 games is good enough for 8th in the League’s scoring race.

Samuel Harvey, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies goaltender, is the second star. He finished the week with a record of 2-0, a goals against average of 1.00 and stopped 48 of 50 shots for a save percentage of 0.960. He blanked the Sherbrooke Phoenix on Friday, stopping the 26 shots he faced in a 4-0 victory. He currently leads the League in wins (17) and is third in goals against average (2.40).

The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles’ forward, Giovanni Fiore is the third star of the week. The 20-year-old veteran scored 5 goals, added 2 assists and maintained a +1 rating in 3 games. On Saturday, he became the first player in team history to score 5 goals in one game in a 7-2 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He leads the Screaming Eagles with 23 goals in 28 games.
