A second defeat in a row


The Gatineau Olympiques completed their three game road trip in three nights with a loss of 6-2 against the PEI Rockets.

Rock Regimbald (Poirier) was the first one to score in the first period. Gatineau kept their lead until the beginning of the second period when Josh Currie (Duffy & Marcotte) tied the game. The Rocket then scored 3 more goals to take the lead 4-1 before the end of the second period. Jimmy Oligny, Éric Robichaud & Matej Beran were the scorer.

The Olympiques reduced the lead to two goals at the beginning of the third with a shorthanded goal from Émile Poirier (Burke). However, Ben Duffy (Chénier-Allard & Beran) scored once again a few minutes later.  Matther Bursey (Micallef & Beran ) completed the score.

Micheal Nisho (21 saves) started the game for the Olympiques but he was replaced by Éric Brassard (10 saves) after 40 minutes of play. Maxime Lagacé was in net for the PEI. He stopped 21 shots.

The Olympiques will play their next game on October 5th at the Robert-Guertin Centre against the Phoenix of Sherbrooke for their game opener.
